I am a prospective applicant on your graduate programme in the coming year. I would be very grateful if you could answer the following question in the greatest detail possible.<br><br>

I have had experience in a back office role (Technology) and I would like to apply for a front office role (Investment Banking).<br><br>

In general, will experience in a back office role be an advantage or a disadvantage if you wish to apply for a front office role?<br><br>

This may be a silly question to ask. However, there have been rumours that I am aware of that seem to suggest any back office experience will "tarnish"  an applicant applying for a front office role, is this in any way true?<br><br>
